This course will introduce you to
the Dietetic Profession. Dietetic practice includes studying the science of
food and nutrition, and learning about nutrition and diet for good health, to
prevent and treat illness and disease or assist with special needs. Dietitians
help people understand the relationship between food and health, and make
suitable dietary choices. You will learn and develop the key knowledge,
attributes and skills used in dietetic practice such as professionalism and
using an evidence based approach and how these apply in a range of practice
Vincent Adocta Awuuh is a Registered Dietitian (RD, LD) and a Registered Nutritionist (RN). He received his MPhil. in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, M.A. in Health Education and BSc. Community Nutrition from KNUST, UCC and UDS respectively. He had his Secondary School Education at the Navrongo Senior High School. He has organizational skills in research, couple with proven ability to develop and maintain working relationships with management, subordinates and other professionals. He has two publication to his credit.
He is hard working young man with determination, good human relationship and appropriate problem solving methodologies. He has strong analytical skills with practical knowledge to positively impact society and contribute to productivity and development. He has over 10 years of working experience in diverse settings. He is a member of the Ghana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Health Tutors Association of Ghana. He is currently the Head of Department for the Allied Health programmes of the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Nalerigu.
